Jury sent home in murder trial

THE jury in a murder trial was sent home for a third night yesterday, after failing to reach a verdict at the Central Criminal Court.

Four Dublin men are accused of murdering a father-of-three in the city two years ago. Fellow Dubliner John Carroll (33) was shot dead while socialising in Grumpy Jack's pub in the Coombe on February 18, 2009. The four men have all pleaded not guilty to murder.

The jury has been told they can reach a majority verdict.
