A judge had to wake a man who appeared in court facing assault charges.
Gary Gillen fell asleep in the pubic gallery at Letterkenny District Court in Co Donegal yesterday.
Mr Gillen (36), of Guesthouse End Street, Raphoe, began to snore loudly and had to be awakened by his solicitor Patsy Gallagher.
However, the singer-songwriter fell asleep again and failed to answer the court when his case was called. Mr Gallagher was again forced to wake his client from sleep.
The case was adjourned until September 15 to allow for a medical report on the injured party.
