Michael Conway (28) of Cloghers, Lixnaw, Co Kerry, was involved in the fatal crash at Irrebeg, Lixnaw, Co Kerry, that claimed the life of Louise McKenna on October 17 last.

Ms McKenna (27) was pronounced dead at the scene. The couple have a six-year-old son.

Mr Conway -- a member of the Kerry hurling panel -- and four other occupants, including two of his hurling teammates, were treated for minor injuries.

The accident occurred at around 3.30am when the Opel Vectra in which they were travelling left the road and hit a tree.

The group had been out socialising and were on their way home to Lixnaw from a 21st birthday party.

At Listowel District Court yesterday, solicitor Patrick Enright said there had been discussions with the State and it would not be a lengthy matter.

Mr Conway was not at yesterday's court sitting. The matter was adjourned until September 27.
