A five-year-old girl who broke both her wrists while playing on a bouncing castle, was yesterday awarded €20,000 damages in the Circuit Civil Court.
Circuit Court president Mr Justice Matthew Deery heard that Lily Parsons was sliding down the castle when she collided with a woman sitting at the bottom of the slide.
Barrister David Conlan Smyth told the court that Lily, of Obelisk Walk, Blackrock, Co Dublin, had been playing at the David Lloyd Riverview gym and leisure centre in Clonskeagh on April 4 last year when the accident happened.
Mr Conlan Smyth said the Personal Injuries Assessment Board had recommended €20,000 as suitable damages.
Judge Deery approved the figure. Lily had sued David Lloyd Riverview Ltd, Beech Hill, Clonskeagh.
