Gardai to quiz 'hit' suspects for three more days
Gardai have been granted an additional three days to question three suspects about the double murder in a Dublin city centre flats complex on Sunday night.
Senior garda officers told a special sitting of Dublin District Court of their progress in the investigation into the murders of Brendan Molyneaux and Paddy Mooney in a flat at Pearse House, Pearse Street, Dublin, and also outlined their reasons for seeking to keep them in custody for questioning for another three days.
The three suspects include a Finglas man, who is suspected of carrying out the two shootings, and his girlfriend who was arrested alongside him two hours after the murders.
Garda intelligence has indicated that a "hit" was ordered on Molyneaux because of underworld rumours that he had agreed to shoot the gang boss in retaliation for the murder of criminal Paul "Farmer" Martin in Finglas in 2008.
