Freddie Thompson applies to court to drop murder charge

Frederick "Freddie" Thompson is applying to the Special Criminal Court in Dublin to dismiss a murder charge against him, the non-jury court heard today.

Mr Thompson (36), with an address at Loreto Road, Maryland, Dublin 8, is charged with the murder of David Douglas (55) at Bridgefoot Street in Dublin on July 1st last year.

Michael O'Higgins SC told the court that his client was making the application under Section 4E of the Criminal Justice Act 1999.
