Four years for 'screwdriver cut' threat

A POLISH man who held a woman inside her flat for two hours and threatened to cut her face with a screwdriver has been jailed for four years.

Robert Kumoch (30) told the victim he had a friend standing outside the flat who likes to assault girls. He then asked her to choose a TV station to watch after he bound her hands and feet. Judge Desmond Hogan imposed a seven-year sentence but suspended the last three years on condition that Kumoch leave the State and not return for 15 years.

Kumoch, of Turnpike Road, Ballymount, Dublin, pleaded guilty at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court to aggravated burglary and false imprisonment of Jogoda Fira (24) at a flat on Capel Street, Dublin, on September 25, 2012.

Detective Garda Sheelagh Sheehan told the court she was in the flat on her own when Kumoch knocked on the door.
