Four men charged as part of investigation into IRA dissident killing

Gardaí have charged four men as part of their investigation into the murder of a dissident republican.

Peter Butterly (35) was shot dead on March 6, 2013 outside The Huntsman Inn, Gormanston, Co Meath.

Gardaí confirmed that the four  men were arrested at locations in Co Meath, Co Cavan and Blanchardstown in West Dublin.

Members of the Ashbourne detective unit and the Special Detective Unit (SDU) carried out the arrests early this morning.

The men were detained at Ashbourne and Finglas Stations

They are scheduled to appear before the Special Criminal Court this morning.

Two men are already serving life sentences over the murder.

Edward McGrath (35), of Land Dale Lawns, Springfield, Tallaght and Sharif Kelly (47), of Pinewood Green Road, Balbriggan were both found guilty of the murder earlier this year.
