A FATHER-of-one has been sent for trial charged with violent disorder at a pub in Dublin last year.
Frederick Thompson (33), had a book of evidence served on him when he appeared in Dublin District Court yesterday.
Judge Michael Walsh refused to grant him bail following objections by gardai.
The accused, of Loreto Road, Maryland, Dublin 8 is charged with violent disorder along with two other named men at Morrissey’s Pub, Cork Street on January 7, 2013.
The alleged offence is contrary to Section 15 of the Public Order Act.
Garda Seamus O’Donovan gave evidence of arrest, charge and caution and said Mr Thompson made no reply. He was handed a copy of the charge sheet.
Judge Walsh gave the defendant the formal notice that he must provide to the prosecution within 14 days details of any alibi he intends to rely on in the course of his trial.
He then sent him forward to the present sittings of Dublin Circuit Criminal Court, on May 27.
