A YOUNG father who has anger issues went on a crime spree throwing eggs at a post-office and smashing a pub window, Balbriggan District Court has heard.
Daniel O'Neill (21) of Moylaragh House, Balbriggan, Co Dublin threw the eggs at the door of Balbriggan Post Office on February 8th causing criminal damage. Two weeks later, on Feburary 22nd, he threw a rock through a glass window at Whiteheart Inn in the town smashing the window and breaking a glass candlestick holder.
Judge Patrick Clyne told O'Neill, who has six previous convictions, that he has to 'change his short pants into long pants' after he heard the 21-year-old is in a steady relationship and has a 13-month old son.
'A man in a stable relationship with a child shouldn't be angry,' remarked Judge Clyne.
O'Neill's solicitor explained the young father was taken into care at the age of four and is attending counselling.
Judge Clyne said O'Neill has to deal with his anger. 'Let's nip this in the bud,' said Judge Clyne and ordered a Probation & Welfare Report. He remanded O'Neill on continuing bail to re-appear before the court on May 1.
