A 70-YEAR-OLD van driver who knocked Dublin hurler Conal Keaney off his motorbike two years ago has been banned from driving for two years.
Mr Keaney suffered a broken ankle and a torn cruciate knee ligament in the accident at Bohernabreena Road on July 22, 2011.
David O'Connor was attempting to make a right-hand turn when he struck Mr Keaney, who was travelling on his motorbike to work.
O'Connor, with an address at Knocklyon Drive, Templeogue, pleaded guilty at Tallaght District Court to careless driving at Bohernabreena Road, Dublin 24, on the date in question.
Judge Anthony Halpin fined O'Connor €100 and banned him from driving for two years.
