Date set for trial of Dana's brother

A DATE has been set for the trial of the brother of former presidential candidate and Eurovision winner Dana Rosemary Scallon, who is charged with three counts of child molestation, writes Shane Hickey.

John Brown (59) appeared before a court in north London yesterday. He is charged with three counts of indecent assault on two alleged victims.

In Harrow Crown Court, Judge John Anderson set October 28 as the date for the trial.

Mr Brown, of Lilly Hill Road, Bracknell, in Berkshire, is next due at court on August 13 for further case management.

He was remanded on continuing bail until then.

Mr Brown was part of his sister's presidential election team in 2011. Ms Scallon received less than 3pc of the vote.
