One of the most prestigious properties to come on the market in Munster in recent years is Lisselan, at Clonakilty, Co Cork.
It's a French chateau-style mansion of 10,764sq feet built in the 1850s. Surrounding it is an estate of some 315 acres famous for its gardens, overlooking the Argideen River.
The estate includes the 90-acre Lisselan Golf Club on 80 acres. There's a Henry Ford museum in the grounds, as the carmaker's grandfather was a tenant farmer until he emigrated during the famine.
Market sources say this property might have fetched €25m at the peak of the boom.
It is being sold by David Ashmore of Sherry FitzGerald, who has sold several of the top Irish country properties in recent years.
