A BUS driver allegedly injured when a fire extinguisher was sprayed in his face by an intruder on his vehicle has settled his High Court action for damages.
Father-of-three Marius Mihai had been working as a driver for Dublin Bus on the 15B route on October 15, 2007, when he was assaulted while parked at the terminus at Whitechurch, Rathfarnham, by an unknown assailant.
As a result, he said he suffered injuries to his eyes and was unable to breathe. He also claimed he suffered from post- traumatic stress and has been unable to get on a bus since the attack.
Mr Mihai, of Clover Well, Bracklin Road, Edgeworthstown, Co Longford, no longer works for the company.
In his claim for damages, he alleged Dublin Bus had failed to protect him and was negligent. He also claimed the company failed to provide him with a safe place and system of work.
Dublin Bus denied the claims.
