A Lithuanian man who was last week sentenced to eight years in jail for attempting to destroy the body of Rebecca French was handed a four-month sentence yesterday for burglary, writes David Looby.
Ricardas Dilys (28) of Goodtide Harbour and formerly of Davitt Road South, Wexford, appeared at Enniscorthy District Court charged with burglary at Coolroe, Clonroche, Co Wexford, on June 28, 2009.
Detective Garda Terry Butler said the defendant broke into a house in Clonroche on June 28, 2009, through the back window and stole cash and an engagement ring.
Dilys' fingerprints were found on a wedding photo frame in the sitting room.
Judge Donnchadh O Buachalla sentenced Dilys to four months in jail to run concurrent with his current sentence.
