A 59-year-old woman charged in connection with the death of her former husband in Dublin 25 years ago has been granted bail.
Christopher Payne (38), was attacked at his home in Crumlin on May 13, 1988, by a group of men with a hatchet. He died six months later.
Two weeks ago, after her extradition from Coventry, England, Philomena Coton was remanded in custody after being charged at Dublin District Court with assault with intent to murder Mr Payne. She had replied: "I'm innocent."
She appeared at the same court yesterday, when Judge Victor Blake was told she had been granted bail by the High Court. She was ordered to appear again in four weeks.
In December 2011, Ms Coton's daughter, Sharon Cullen (40), of Ballyjamesduff, Co Cavan, was charged with assault with intent to murder. In 1989, two youths were jailed for their role in the attack.
