American (60) settles lover fraud claim case
A 60-YEAR-old American woman's action over claims she was defrauded of millions by her younger Irish fiance has been settled at the High Court.
Elisa Rodino claimed Thomas J Queally, originally from Lahaknock, Kilmaley, Co Clare, had stolen about $4m (€3m) of her money.
Mr Queally, who is in his mid-40s, rejected her claims that he transferred money from a joint account in the US to his bank account in Ennis, Co Clare, without her authorisation.
Yesterday, however, Ms Rodino's lawyers told Ms Justice Mary Laffoy that the case has been settled. No details were revealed in open court.
The judge adjourned the matter to a date in April to allow for the terms of the settlement to be committed to writing.
