A HIGH Court action for damages by the husband of the late Savita Halappanavar against the HSE is listed to open tomorrow.
Praveen Halappanavar’s case is listed in the court's personal injuries list managed by Mr Justice Kevin Cross.
Due to the funeral on Thursday morning of the late Supreme Court judge, Mr Justice Adrian Hardiman, the callover of that list has been deferred to 2pm.
The case was initiated following the death of 31-year-old Savita Halappanavar in 2012 .
She was pregnant with her first child when she presented at University College Hospital, Galway, with pains.
She died a week later, on October 28th 2012, after miscarrying and contracting E coli, leading to septic shock.
An inquest into her death was told she repeatedly asked for a termination but, because a foetal heartbeat was detected and her life
did not appear to be in danger at that time, an abortion could not be carried out under the law.
