A former school principal and priest told gardai that allegations he abused a pupil were "total fabrication".
Con Desmond (77), of Kilrush Road, Ennis, Co Clare, denies 13 charges of indecently assaulting a boy at the St Stephen's De La Salle national school in Waterford city, between 1977 and 1980.
His trial at Waterford Circuit Court heard of an interview he gave to gardai in 2007, after the alleged victim made a complaint in 2006. The court heard when details were put to Mr Desmond at Tipperary garda station, he described them as 'fabrication'. Closing speeches are expected to begin today.
