25 accused of selling drugs on city streets
A MAN accused of selling heroin at the Capuchin Day Centre is among 25 alleged street dealers who have appeared before Dublin District Court.
Bernard Ward (54), of Longford Street Little, Dublin 2, is accused of possession of heroin, worth €20, as well as having the drug for sale or supply on February 18 last.
Judge Denis McLoughlin remanded the accused on bail to appear before Dublin District Court on October 2.
More than 20 individuals have appeared before court following their arrest earlier this week as part of Operation Tempest, which was set up to focus on suspected street dealers.
The alleged street dealers are accused of selling single deals of cannabis, cocaine and heroin as well as diazepam, valued between €20 and €70, to undercover gardai. Among the accused are; Ian Flood (30), of Seville Place; Corrie Grimes (18), Ferryman's Crossing, Seville Place; and Craig Grimes (25), Sheriff St Lwr, accused of selling cannabis.
Martin Gumble (32), Blackhall Place; Joseph Harris (38), of Canon Lillis Avenue; Benjamin Johnson (53), of North Cumberland House; and Clive Kavanagh (46), of St Mary's Mansions, Dublin 1, are accused of selling heroin.
Anne Marie Kelly (27), of North Circular Road, is accused of selling cannabis herb.
Gavin Kelly (24), of St Attracta Road, Cabra; Gavin Lyons (28), North Circular Road; Phillip Meehan (36) of Bellman's Walk, D1; and Keith Murphy (36), of Kilmainham Square, are all accused of selling heroin.
Ciaran O'Brien (21), Sherrard Avenue, North Circular Road, is accused of selling cocaine.
Thomas O'Leary (21), of Coburg Place, Seville Place, is accused of selling heroin.
Patrick Oglesby (23), of Rory O'Connor House; and Paul Oglesby (20) of Upper Gloucester Place, are both accused of selling cannabis.
Sinead Prendergast (35), of North Circular Road, is accused of selling diazepam, heroin and alprazolam.
Noel Rickard (31) and John Sheridan (51), both of North Circular Road, are accused of selling heroin; Derek Whelan (48), of North Circular Road, is accused of selling diazepam, and Luke Fennel (25), Oriel Street, is accused of selling cannabis.
