A MARRIED couple and their son are being questioned by gardai about two pipebomb attacks last year.
The arrests were made yesterday as officers stepped up their inquiries into the incidents, which are believed to be linked to a dispute involving several members of a family.
The father and mother were arrested at their home while their son, who is in his 20s, was detained in Co Cork.
All three were being questioned last night at the Bridewell, Mayfield and Gurranabraher garda stations in Cork city.
The first attack was carried out last March when a pipebomb exploded underneath a parked Toyota Avensis car in a Cork housing estate.
An Army bomb-disposal officer's protective clothing saved his life when the device exploded minutes before he could move in to defuse it.
A similar device was discovered outside a house at Kilnap Place in Farranree on the northside of Cork city in July.
Gardai said last night that the arrests followed a lengthy investigation by officers from Cork city into the two attacks.
