January 8, 2009 1,900 jobs lost Dell computers announces it is closing down its Irish manufacturing operation, making 1,900 people redundant and leaving thousands more jobless in subsidiary industries.

January 16, 2009 200 jobs lost Kostal in Abbeyfeale, Co Limerick, makes 200 people redundant.

February 12, 2009 477 jobs lost RR Donnelly (Banta) closes in Limerick with 477 left jobless.

March 27, 2009 150 jobs lost Flextronics lets 150 workers go at its Raheen operation in Limerick.

July 22, 2009 370 jobs lost Element Six announces it is letting go 370 workers at Shannon.

October 7, 2009 130 jobs lost GE Money cuts 50 jobs at its Shannon firm, while another 80 people are made redundant at the nearby Tecnotree plant.

April 30, 2010 65 jobs lost Irish Cement axes 65 jobs at the Mungret plant in Limerick.

August 18, 2010 119 jobs lost Liam Carroll Transport and Refrigeration closes in Thurles, Co Tipperary.

August 21, 2010 100 jobs lost Kelly's of Fantane lets go 100 of its140 construction supply workforce in north Tipperary.

October 21, 2010 207 jobs lost Shannon Aerospace and Elsevier make 207 staff redundant.
