Council wants run-down shed

A COUNCIL wants to buy a run-down old shed with an asking price of €250,000.

The Old Forge on Main Street, Letterkenny, Co Donegal, has historical and tourism value, according to town councillors but they insist the agent selling the shed -- where horses were 'shod' up to the 1970s -- must drop the price.

The council plans to ask the Office of Public Works, Failte Ireland and the Heritage Council for funding.
