Costelloe looks to linen for spring/summer
Just what the 'Made in Chelsea' television stars made of Luke Kelly's rendition of Raglan Road opening Paul Costelloe's London Fashion Week catwalk show is one thing, but they certainly 'got' the frocks.
Paul's 'frow' was studded with Irish and British TV stars who clearly appreciated the drama and silhouettes he created with tactile linens he sourced in Belfast, Wexford and Italy and fashioned in classic and sexy silhouettes.
The sheer pvc top worn with wide legged linen trousers with combat pockets had a red carpet vibe but Paul's SS17 collection - driven by a long-awaited rejuvenation of the days when linen reigned - featured lots of very wearable pieces alongside the inevitable, show-off catwalk pieces.
He cut beautifully fitted coats in cream and subtle Prince of Wales check shorts suits. Jackets were cinched in with double-buckle chunky leather belts.
That strong woman Paul introduced us to last season was back with a vengeance and wispy blue organza pieces were roughed up with attractive, tone-on- tone leather backpacks and large vanity cases.
