Alison McDonagh was on work placement when she failed to return to Hydebank Wood Prison in Belfast.

She is serving a sentence for murder.

The 42-year-old is described as having two tattoos on her lower right arm - one a ribbon saying 'Mum and Dad' and the other 'Mad + Mark, Courtney'.

She has green eyes and brown hair. Both her ears are pierced.

It's thought police have carried out searches in south Belfast in a bid to catch her.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the police or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

McDonagh is one of nine people unlawfully at large from prison in Northern Ireland.
