Contractor avoids jail over €1.1m drugs storage
A CONTRACTOR who claimed he unwittingly allowed €1.1m of head shop drugs be stored in a house he was renovating has been given 240 hours' community service in lieu of 12 months' jail, writes Terry Conlon.
The case against Robert Kennedy (35), with an address at Milltown, Castlebellingham, Co Louth, was heard in November at Dundalk District Court and adjourned until yesterday.
Kennedy admitted allowing his premises at Milltown, Dromiskin, to be used by two men who turned out to be concealing illegal head shop drugs in December 2010. Solicitor Conor Breen said Kennedy was "naive in the extreme".
