People who play the National Lottery online have taken to social media to complain that they have been unable to enter tonight's €3.5m jackpot draw.

Account holders say they were unable to pick numbers and were forced to log into the site multiple times.

Problems began this morning with a number of people registering their anger on the National Lottery's own Facebook page.

The Lottery did respond to one player using Apple's Safari suggesting that he press the F5 button to help reload the page.

One punter said he had stopped doing the lottery altogether because of glitches.

"I don't do lotto online for that very reason and lately I've stopped altogether as now that if you have the plus, they add €1 and give you a draw ticket number. No one asked me if I wanted the extra draw," wrote one former player.
