Commuters face delays after train strikes dog

COMMUTERS are facing delays this evening after a train struck a dog on the line.

The 3.20pm Cork to Dublin Heuston service is currently delayed due to mechanical damage after striking a dog

A spokesperson for Irish Rail confirmed the incident.

It is understood the train is currently stopped at Sallins in Co Kildare.

All other trains behind the line are also stopped.

It is unknown how long the delays will be.
