A truck collided with a bridge in Dublin city centre this morning causing delays for rail commuters.

The vehicle hit a bridge on Townsend Street, causing delays of up to 10 minutes to services through Pearse Station.

The truck was cleared from the scene approximately 15 minutes after the collision.

Irish Rail informed commuters of the delays on its official Twitter account.

They predicted 10 minute-delays to services but said they would soon ease.

The tweet read: "Vehicle at Townsend Street now cleared.  Up to 10 mins delays to services but these will ease."
