Coleen shows how to sparkle on a budget
ALTHOUGH her husband, Wayne Rooney, earns nearly €200,000 a week, Coleen Rooney yesterday showed a savvy shopping instinct on a visit to Dublin.
No new designer shoes for her but old Yves Saint Laurent snub-nosed black platforms from the back of her wardrobe, worn with a €120 dress from the high street and a €20 layered pearl and chain necklace.
The latter was from Argos, which brought her to Ireland to publicise its Christmas jewellery range.
Clearly set on building an expanding 'Coleen' brand in her own right, the mother-of-one launched her own perfume in London last month; she also has her own make-up brand and a clothing range with a catalogue company.
Reflecting on the media attention that comes with being married to the Manchester United striker, Coleen said: "You just have to live your life. It's quite hard, even going food shopping you are stopped and if both of us go together, you are in the same aisle for about an hour because that many people come up and want photographs with you, which is nice."
Three months ago she found herself at the centre of a media storm after her husband was linked to another woman but the young mum yesterday spoke enthusiastically about spending a family Christmas with Wayne and son Kai, who was one last month.
"It is always a family time. I think we are going to my mum's for Christmas dinner and we go to visit Wayne's family but he goes away because he has a match.
"He'll see Kai for a little bit. Last year Kai was only six weeks old so he was asleep for the full day but he has started to get excited over little things. He's into 'Toy Story'."
