Coastguard search for missing fisherman (50) resumes this morning

A search and rescue operation has resumed in Co Galway for a man (50) whose fishing boat was found yesterday morning.

The alarm was raised at midday on Friday that the man was missing from the Oughterard area of Lough Corrib.

Gardaí, the Shannon-based Coast Guard helicopter, the Costello Bay Coast Guard Unit and the Corrib/Mask Rescue Boats are carrying out the search.

Local people and local fishermen are also involved in the operation.
