TAOISEACH Enda Kenny last night promised the Government will set up an independent economic watchdog and begin large-scale political reform before the summer break.
Mr Kenny pledged his Coalition would make progress on a wide range of political reforms within its first 100 days in office to "make the structures of the State more accountable, more efficient and better able to chart a course to lasting economic recovery".
Mr Kenny said the Government got into office with the promise that business as usual would no longer be tolerated.
"The structures that got us into this mess will be changed so it doesn't happen again," he told Brehon Law Society last night.
