Commuters travelling through the city centre suffered delays on Monday evening as fire fighters attended the scene of a blaze.

Units from the Dublin Fire Brigade rushed to the fire on Bishop Street shortly before 5pm.

The street is located close to the Dublin Institute of Technology on Aungier Street.

The area was partially obstructed and those travelling in the area have been warned to expect delays.

Footage seen by independent.ie show firemen parked on the street, using a 100 foot turntable ladder to reach the fire.
