A MAN suspected of a crime spree that included setting a chipper ablaze has laughed about the incident on his Facebook page.

The thug who is believed to have suffered burns, smoke inhalation and self-inflicted knife wounds during the event posted the comments from his hospital bed.

He and a pal are believed to be behind a fire at Kebabish takeaway in Dungarvan, Co Waterford over the weekend.

However, he laughed off the event with pals on social media yesterday.

In the post, the man revealed his displeasure about being stuck in the hospital. When concerned friends asked what had happened he replied, "Burnt down Fresh Bite (the former name of the business) LOL".

His post was followed by a slew of comments laughing and joking about his "mad" antics.

The man's rampage is believed to have began at around 2am on Sunday when staff at the Kababish reported finding a burning handbag in the toilets.
