More than 600 people were expected to attend the event at the Leopardstown hospice, which provides palliative care and support for children with life-limiting conditions and their families.

Jennifer Zamparelli of RTÉ's 'Bridget and Eamon' and Leinster rugby player Isa Nacewa joined in the festivities, which also marked the fifth anniversary of the hospice opening.

"It makes you think about your life and how lucky you are, and the hardships that some of these families have gone through," Zamparelli said.
