A GRANDMOTHER who has devoted more than three decades to fundraising for charities has just passed the €1m mark.
Tina O'Gorman (54), from Pineview Gardens, Moyross, Limerick, started her charity collections when she was a teenager.
Her latest effort -- raising €5,000 for the Mid-West Parkinson's Association -- has pushed her past the magic million target, which she set 34 years ago.
Last night, Mrs O'Gorman -- who has six daughters and eight grandchildren -- said she had no plans to rest on her laurels. "I'll keep going. I wasn't too sure what to do after hitting the €1m mark, but I'll stay at it. I've got roped into doing a few more," she said.
"I'll be back out this week doing a bucket collection for the School for the Deaf here in Limerick. I'm also raising funds for 'Friends of the Elderly'.
