CELEBRITY chef Darina Allen has hailed 'The Gathering' as the recipe for a wonderful 2013 for Ireland.
The Ballymaloe chef said that it presents a priceless opportunity to showcase all that is good about the country
"I think it is absolutely wonderful. Ireland has so much to offer and this is a great chance to give the world a flavour of what we are all about," she said.
The TV cookery star joined Queen Elizabeth's favourite fishmonger Pat O'Connell, All-Ireland hurler Sean Og O hAilpin, and ocean swimming champion Steve Redmond to launch the Cork element of 'The Gathering' programme.
"Although not born and bred in Cork myself, I am honoured and humbled to have been chosen as an ambassador for 'The Gathering Cork' in 2013," she said.
The programme features over 220 city and county events.
