Detectives believe that the footage -- obtained from various premises around Bandon -- will help them confirm who John Forrester (42) was with in the days before his killing.

Mr Forrester -- known locally as 'Johnny English' - was recovered from the River Bandon last Tuesday.

His hands and feet had been tied with electrical cable and he was wrapped in a rug in a bid to weigh his body down.

The unemployed man died from a frenzied attack in which he suffered multiple stab wounds to the face and neck.

Gardai believe the fatal assault occurred in the Bridge House apartment complex where Mr Forrester -- who had a serious alcohol problem -- had lived over recent months.

That assault is believed to have occurred sometime over last Saturday or Sunday, November 12/13.

Meanwhile the funeral of Jonathan Duke (27), who was found in the river 36 hours before Mr Forrester, took place over the weekend. Fr Myles McSweeney told mourners that community of Bandon had been "plunged into shock and disbelief" following the two deaths.
