Cathriona White's family: We are taking no legal case against Jim Carrey
The family of the late Cathriona White say they are not involved in any legal action against her former boyfriend, the Hollywood actor Jim Carrey.
Ms White's mother Brigid Sweetman is suing Carrey for her daughter's wrongful death.
However, a statement issued by the White family say they have no involvement in this or any other legal action.
"The White family would like to clarify the public record in relation to recent media reporting concerning their beloved, Cathriona White.
"Contrary to recent media reports, no member of the White family is involved in any legal action with any party in relation to the untimely passing of Cathriona.
"The White family remember their beautiful Cathriona as a wonderful, caring and compassionate person. The continuous media intrusion and speculation only continues to cause hurt and upset to the family.
"The family request that Cathriona is allowed to rest in peace with the dignity that she deserves," the statement added.
Make-up artist Cathriona, originally from Cappawhite in Co Tipperary, took her own life in September of last year.
She had been involved in a relationship with actor Jim Carrey and they split in the months before her death.
The actor flew to Ireland and carried her coffin at her funeral in her native Cappawhite, and was embraced by the White family.
A year later, Cathriona's estranged husband Mark Burton filed a lawsuit against Carrey claiming he was responsible for his wife's death.
Carrey is being sued by his late girlfriend's mother Brigid Sweetman and her estranged husband Mark Burton, alleging he provided White with prescription drugs involved in her suicide. Documents lodged with the court in Los Angeles also contains a number of allegations against the actor.
Carrey has strenuously denied the allegations against him and has promised to fight the claims in court.
