Cardinal in reshuffle

Catholic Primate Cardinal Sean Brady has made several changes to his Diocese just days after confirming he wants to leave his post.
The Archbishop of Armagh announced yesterday that eight priests were moving within the Diocese with a ninth priest retiring.
The announcement included the appointment of Reverend Biju Thomas, on loan from the Archdiocese of Kottayam, Kerala, India, to be curate in Armagh.
Gold for cancer
THE public are being asked to donate pieces of gold jewellery to help put the finishing touches to an exact replica of Brian Boru's crown and aid cancer research in the process.
The crown, on show at the Waterford Museum of Treasures, was created by cancer charity Jewels for Cures. A particle of every donor's gold will be cast into the final medallion to be cast for the 1001st anniversary in April 2015, with spare gold sold to raise funds for charity.
A DONEGAL man had a lucky escape when a street lamp fell on top of his car when he popped to the shop.
Paul McHugh (24) had left his BMW in the centre of Convoy for a few minutes and came back to find €2,000 worth of damage.

Prison payment anger
the advocacy group for families of victims of homicide, AdVIC, has criticised the Irish Prison Service for its policy of providing payments to prisoners in order to incentivise good behaviour.
Prisoners have earned €3.8m since 2009.
John Whelan, AdVIC chairman, said: "It is absolutely astounding that we are paying criminals to behave well, when the State does not provide adequate services to victims such as bereavement counselling for families of victims of homicide."
