A LARGE stash of cannabis resin has been found buried in a field.
Gardai from the Limerick Divisional Drugs Unit found approximately €400,000 worth of the drug buried in an open area at Ballyhahill, Glin, in Co Limerick earlier today.
The drugs have been recovered as part of an ongoing investigation into the sale and supply of drugs in the southern region.
No one has been arrested in connection with the seizure.
Separately, gardai in Wexford searched a house at Ballybeg Great, Screen, Co Wexford this afternoon/
"During the course of this search Cannabis plants in various stages of maturity were seized," a spokesman said. "The plants have an estimated street value of €250,000."
A 42 year old man was arrested in connection with this investigation and is currently detained at Enniscorthy Garda Station under Section 2 Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996
