Cannabis worth €1.2m seized in Co. Meath

A 45 year old man was arrested in Co. Meath this morning after a search of a lorry uncovered cannabis resin with a street value of €1.2m.

Gardaí said they stopped the lorry on the M1 at Gormanstown following an intelligence led operation. The man is currently being detained in Balbriggan.

Superintendent Joe Kelly speaking at Balbriggan Garda Station said today “this is a significant quantity of cannabis, which has been taken off the streets and it demonstrates An Garda Síochána’s commitment to targeting the sale and supply of illegal drugs”.
