Merrion Square is set for a canine invasion this weekend as dog lovers flock to the Pawsitivity in the City festival.

Owners and their dogs can attend free events including tips on pet health and how to teach a dog tricks.

'Dancing with the Stars' finalist Aoibhín Garrihy will attend the three-day festival with her French Mastiffs Ruby and Reggie.

"A festival to celebrate dogs and promote dogs and family I think is brilliant," she said.

Attractions include a dog disco and puppy pen.

Pawsitivity runs in Merrion Square on May 13 and 14 and will then move on to Fitzgerald's Park, Cork, on May 20.
