Gardaí have launched an appeal to the public to help them identify the owner of a camera found in Wicklow.

Pictures have been posted onto the An Garda Siochana social media pages in the hope that the owner of the camera, which was handed into Wicklow Garda Station, will come forward.

One of the key clues in the photographs is the text 'Medicine Lille' which is on the sleeve of a girl in one of the pictures.

The camera found was a Cannon Powershot and black in colour.

The Gardaí Facebook page stated: "(The) serial number was not reported lost  (or) stolen to us yet. (It is) possibly a foreign tourist. Someone out there will know these people in the images even if we have blocked part of their face. Nice to be able to return it to the owner."

If you have information about the owner, you can contact the Wicklow Garda Station on 01 6665392.
