STAFF working for the receivers at the former Quinn Group of companies have been subjected to a campaign of ongoing intimidation and threats since the takeover three years ago.
The new management began receiving threatening letters within days of the takeover while security staff have been repeatedly threatened and verbally abused. There have also been "several attempts" to cut the electricity supply to the former Quinn glass plant.
A source told the Irish Independent: "The people responsible cut chunks out of the poles and then let the wind topple them."
He added: "Spikes have been left on the mountain road to puncture the wheels on patrol vehicles minding the wind farms, and there is a serious risk that security staff could be injured."
In another incident, a Quinn truck was stolen and used to ram the company canteen across the road from Wednesday night's incident, causing extensive damage.
