Calls to remove abuser from school mural

The North Mon mural image of Br Edward Bryan.

A VICTIM of former Christian Brother Edward Bryan has called for a mural in his school to be altered to remove his image from it.

While principal of North Monastery, Br Bryan commissioned a special mural in the Cork school to commemorate its famous sporting achievements.

His image is one of the centre-pieces of the mural.

One of his victims has now demanded that Bryan be "painted out of the mural".

"That man abused and violated innocent children . . . he shouldn't be honoured in any way at the North Monastery, not after what he did," he told the Irish Independent.
