Calendar boys: Businessmen bare all for charity

Brian McDonald

A GROUP of businessmen have bared all for a daring new charity publication.

Modelling themselves on the 'Calendar Girls' in the UK, who posed naked for charity, the west of Ireland businessmen, aged in their 40s, 50s and 60s, have now thrown off their business suits -- and everything else.

The bank manager, accountant, veterinary surgeon, two auctioneers and others will scarcely be viewed in the same light once the charity calendar for 2011 is launched in Boyle, Co Roscommon, later this month.

Bank manager Jim Feighan (Mr December) is pictured wearing a Santa Claus hat and clutching a strategically placed festive gift; farmer Miceal McMorrow is shot in the all-together on his tractor; while vet Michael Hunt gets down to the bare essentials while examining Ted the turkey.

The men are members of the Boyle Celtic Legends team, who still play football. A total of 19 members of the Legends agreed to 'get their kit off' for the calendar, which is aimed at raising funds for Brothers of Charity Services, which supports people with intellectual disabilities.
