Burke has 'no regrets' over article
THE writer who has thrown Senator David Norris's presidential bid into disarray by referring back to comments he made about paedophilia 10 years ago is standing by her actions.
Restaurant critic Helen Lucy Burke said last night she had "no regrets" about digging up the comments in which she claimed he endorsed paedophilia and incest.
Mr Norris, who is seeking nomination as a Presidential candidate, has disputed the claims made by the journalist on RTE earlier this week, and has criticised a 'Magill' magazine article by Ms Burke about him written a decade ago.
He has claimed the comments about sexual activity between older and younger men and boys were made during an "academic discussion" and were taken out of context.
However, Ms Burke remains defiant on the issue. "I stand over everything I said, and still firmly believe he should not be running as a Presidential candidate," she said.
Mr Norris has vowed to continue his campaign.
