FORMER GAA star Joe Brolly has urged potential donors to come forward to help his friend after the organ he donated failed to take.
The Gaelic football pundit said "the clock is ticking" for father-of-three Shane Finnegan, after the kidney donated by Brolly had to be removed.
Mr Finnegan, a PR executive who coaches under-10s GAA with Brolly, is now back on dialysis and desperately needs a kidney.
"There is someone out there who could save his life. To be able to do that changes you as a person, it changed me even though we weren't successful," he told the Irish Independent.
Brolly revealed how since hearing of Mr Finnegan's plight a number of people have come forward to be tested in a bid to help.
"Two people who want to remain anonymous have got in touch. I think something good can come of this yet," he said.
