Britney shows she's still a fabulous Fatale attraction
WESTLIFE may have called it a day but Britney Spears looks to be in no danger of giving up her pop career.
Having sold 70 million albums, the ultimate showgirl seemed intent on shifting a few more units yet when she thrilled thousands of fans on the Dublin date of her 'Femme Fatale' tour in the 02 last night.
She'll be turning 30 in December, and the mother of two pulled out all the stops to provide a show-stopping spectacular.
And the fans certainly seem to want more: with a biblical downpour descending on the country yesterday, most of them arrived by car, bringing with it the usual traffic problems.
But the crowd was soon under the spell of the pop queen who arrived on stage just after 9pm, to dish out hit after hit, right back to her 1999 single 'Baby One More Time'.
In Dublin since Friday, the dismal weather had resulted in the star spending several days in the Four Seasons Hotel with at least one shopping trip to Grafton Street cancelled.
However, as she's in the capital with new boyfriend Jason Trawick, who features in her new video, that may not have been such an ordeal.
Having survived meltdown and rehab, concerts by Spears on the 'Femme Fatale' tour have been described as "part concert and part therapy".
Spears herself concedes: "I have a good group of people around me. We have the show at a certain time every night. And we just try to stay consistent on having a routine and staying fit and healthy.
"The show is really fun for me, it's one of the most entertaining shows that I've ever done," she said.
The blonde singer, who started the European leg of her world tour in St Petersburg, moves to the Odyssey Arena in Belfast tonight before two shows in London.
